19 Objective of the Course: This course examines all reforms in the fields of politics, social and culture after National War. Moreover, this course analyses foreign policy practices in Atatürk’s era. Furthermore, it evaluates basic dynamics of Turkısh revolution and the role of Atatürk’s principles in constructing the nation-state.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To understand process of the transition from an Empire to a Nation-State.;
2 To conceive the principles and the methods behind Atatürk’s decisions.;
3 To evaluate how Republic institutions were constructed and evolved.;
4 To analyze the similarities and differences between the institutions of the Ottoman Empire and the new Republic.;
5 To compare the Turkish revolution with other revolutions.;
6 To observe the development of secularism.;
7 To integrate universal and national values by using an analytical approach.;
8 To evaluate the period of transition to a multi-party system.;
